Red Skye Gallery’s George Shaw was born in Southern Alberta in the early 1940′s and raised on a dryland farm at the north end of the Porcupine Hills east of Highway #2. Enjoying retirement following a successful career with the Calgary Board of Education, he has put his passion for photography to work in capturing the skies of southern Alberta and the old farmsteads and buildings that represent the history of this land. Watch for his third book due out soon portrating the vanishing grain elevators that were at one time a familiar sight on the horizon but have been since torn down to make way for modern technology.
